Colorado’s Universal Preschool (UPK) program has released updated 2026 family‑engagement policy requirements. All participating providers must inform families that they have access to each of the following opportunities within the program:
Opportunities to utilize interpreters or other language resources as appropriate
Opportunities to share home cultural and social practices
Opportunities for families to be a part of goal‑setting for the child’s learning
Opportunities for families and community partners to engage in program operational decision‑making
Opportunities for families to be involved in the child’s transitions between classrooms or schools
Opportunities to provide feedback on the quality of program‑family and program‑staff interactions
These items must be included in your 2026 UPK Addendum and made accessible to families and licensing specialists.
I am more than happy to help any centers meet these new requirements!
